Retirements of Mr Justice John Cooke and Mr Justice Eamon De Valera

Our colleagues Mr Justice John Cooke, and Mr Justice Eamon de Valera, both formerly of the High Court, have recently retired.

Mr Justice Cooke has retired early and his last sitting was in the Four Courts on Friday 20th of December 2013. At his own request there was no farewell ceremony.

Mr Justice de Valera has retired on age grounds and his last sitting was in Court No 4 in the Four Courts on Friday 24th of January 2014 when tributes were paid to him.

The Executive Committee and the Members of the Association of Judges of Ireland wish both Mr Justice Cooke and Mr Justice de Valera, respectively, a long and happy retirement.
