55th Annual Meeting of the International Association of Judges, Nov 11 - 15, 2012

The President, Peter Kelly, and the Secretary John Edwards recently represented the AJI at the 55th Annual Meeting of the International Association of Judges (IAJ-UIM). This was held in Washington D.C., Nov 11 - 15, 2012, and was hosted by the Federal Judges Association. Conference sessions were held at the James Madison Building, U.S. Patent and Trade Mark Office, Alexandria, V.A.. Delegates were drawn from 77 National Judges Associations / Representative Groups from across the Globe. The IAJ-UIM is a very influential body and it is important that the AJI should be represented on it.

At the opening ceremony letters of support for the work of the IAJ-UIM were read from President Barack Obama, and from Chief Justice Roberts of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Much important business was transacted at this conference, a summary of which was outlined to members by Peter Kelly at our recent AGM at Dublin Castle.
